John Entwistle – Ruff Mixes (Too Late The Hero Demos)

This is a bootleg of a tape used when John Entwistle was recording his “Too Late The Hero” album in 1979.  The tape was bought at an auction when the recording studio went bankrupt.  It’s just a short selection of tracks, but some turn out better than the final demos, with John playing looser and less of a focus on production.

All these tracks are unreleased.  Finished versions have appeared on albums, and other demos on remastered albums, but they are different from these tracks.

It’s worth noting that “Dancing Master” was the source of this Blog’s name.  I don’t care for the finished version, but this Work-In-Progress version is quite appreciated.

I haven’t included the image of the cover, because bootleg covers are shitty.  These are all MP3s too, because I’m not a prick.

  1. Countryside Boogie (Work-In-Progress)
  2. Lovebird (work-In-Progress)
  3. I’m Coming Back (Work-In-Progress)
  4. Dancing Master (Work-In-Progress)
  5. Back On The Road (Work-In-Progress)
  6. Sleeping Man (Work-In-Progress)
  7. Sax Tracking Ent-7

Introduction

I’m going to try and limit myself to one “Blog” now.  I’m starting to grow tired of writing easily-buried posts on MySpace and Bebo, then never seeing them again.

I don’t think I’m going to post regularly or even stick to one topic.  I’m probably just going to write about my interests without getting too personal.  Seems kind of appealing to me.  I can also post links to things I’m afraid I’ll forget about or delete.

You can embed YouTube links on this, right?  I’ll probably use that if I see something good.
